Who We Are

Richard K. (Skip) Forrest | Founder and Creative Director

A long-time collector and dealer of mid-century modern design and fine art, Skip’s diverse interests were fully integrated with the founding of NakedModern. Thanks in no small part to an adored former girlfriend’s personal style and fashion industry career, the genesis of the idea to create avant-garde works of art with a modernist theme harkens back to at least the 1980s (possibly the 1950s).  At a time when the integration of design and art is in the minds of collectors and embraced in the marketplace, NakedModern blazes an innovative trail melding worldwide interest in art photography and modern design into a new genre.

Skip has broad experience in cross-cultural communication, marketing, art and interior design, and is an entrepreneur and independent curator.  His career spans work in public relations, as a director of marketing and development director for an international architectural firm, and as an art and modern design dealer.  He has traveled the world in his quest for adventure and knowledge including years travellng the Indian Subcontinent, Afghanistan, the Greek Islands, treks across the Middle and Near East, as well as leading motorcycle rides across Australia and New Zealand.  Motorcycling since he was too young for a license, his passion for British and American motorcycles has taken him to rallies in Norway,  Denmark, England, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia.

He holds a B.A. Degree in liberal arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently working on a M.A. degree in English Language and Linguistics.
